The National Bank of Egypt was still the note-issuing authority during this period, a function it retained until the Central Bank of Egypt was established in 1961 — which means this series was effectively obsolete almost as soon as the later dates were printed. Bradbury Wilkinson's New Malden facility handled Egyptian high-value printing throughout the mid-century, a relationship that persisted well beyond the 1952 revolution and the change of political order it brought.
Four signature combinations are documented across Pick 31, reflecting considerable administrative turnover at the bank during the Nasser years.
