| 备注 |
The National Bank of Egypt was a privately held institution — not a central bank in the modern sense — that retained its note-issuing authority well into the postwar period, despite Egypt's growing political pressure to nationalize it. Leith-Ross, whose signature appears on the earlier issues of this series, was a British Treasury official of considerable influence; his presence on Egyptian currency reflects the degree to which sterling-area monetary arrangements still shaped Egyptian finance in the late 1940s.
Bradbury Wilkinson produced the series in London, a long-standing arrangement that would become politically untenable as the 1952 revolution approached.
