At the North Pole is the sun continously above the horizon in summer time. In Recent years, a numbers of studies have predicted that the North Pole may become seasonally ice-free due to Arctic shrinkage. Later years expeditions by ski have been more and more compli- cated and several expeditions have been abandoned due the change of cli- mate with more and more areas shifting with ice and water.
