| Obverse description | Brown on light ground, the obverse is dominated by an elaborate guilloché border enclosing the central text field. The Ottoman tughra appears at the top centre flanked by two cartouches bearing the denomination '5' in both Arabic and Latin numerals (PIASRES / ﻋﺮﻭﺵ). The date '22 Kanun-i Evvel 1331' is inscribed in Ottoman script below the heading, with multiple lines of Ottoman calligraphic text filling the centre, including the promise-to-pay legend. Series letter 'SÉRIE F' appears at lower left in Latin characters, with the serial number at lower right; a single manuscript signature is present below the central text block. |
