Obverse description Central vignette portrays a rice paddy field labour scene with four farmers in conical hats bent over transplanting rice seedlings; a water buffalo and additional figures appear in the middle ground before a rural dwelling. Numeral 5 appears in each upper corner within ornamental guilloche borders, with a letter A panel at top centre. Three manuscript signatures appear across the lower portion above the serial numbers and the denomination legend CINQ PIASTRES.
Obverse lettering BANQUE DE L'INDO-CHINE CINQ PIASTRES G. BARRIÈRE DEL.
Reverse description Central vignette presents a Cambodian Buddhist temple pavilion with a tiered spire set amid tall palm trees, with a group of saffron-robed monks and a young novice standing to the left foreground. Khmer script appears at left, Chinese characters at right reading 東方匯理銀行 伍圓, and the Vietnamese title GIÂY NĂM ĐỒNG VÀNG runs across the top. A legal warning inscription in French occupies the lower panel, with the designer's name PHAM-NGOC-KHUE at the lower right.
