| Aanvullende informatie |
J. Göggl & Sohn was a Munich-based metalworks firm that issued notgeld during the acute small-change shortage that gripped Germany in the early 1920s. Private industrial and commercial enterprises were legally permitted to issue their own emergency coinage during this period, and zinc — already a wartime substitution metal — remained the practical choice when copper and nickel were still scarce or expensive post-armistice. These privately issued pieces circulated only within the firm's own payroll and immediate commercial sphere, which is precisely why survivors in any condition are infrequently encountered outside regional German collections.
