| 正面描述 | Octagonal zinc notgeld token with a peripheral pearl border following the eight-sided edge. The circular legend CIGARETTENFABRIK YENIDZE arcs across the upper field and DRESDEN across the lower field, flanked by two small six-pointed stars at either side. A raised rope-twist ring separates the legend from an inner beaded circle, within which the large numeral 5 is prominently displayed in the centre of the field. |

Yenidze was a Dresden tobacco manufacturer whose factory, completed in 1909, was deliberately designed to resemble a mosque — complete with minaret-style smokestack — to evoke the Ottoman origins of its Turkish tobacco blends. The company issued this zinc notgeld token during the severe coinage shortages of World War I, when the German imperial government's metal requisitions stripped small change from everyday commerce and left private firms to fill the gap themselves.
Zinc was the default material for emergency issues of this kind; copper and nickel had military priority.
