正面描述 A pearl border frames the entire design. The municipal coat of arms of Weiden, surmounted by a mural crown, occupies the central field, with foliate supporters flanking the shield on either side. The circular legend STADT WEIDEN OBERPFALZ runs along the upper periphery, while the date 1917 and the denomination numeral 5, separated by rosette ornaments, appear in the lower field beneath the arms.

附加信息

Weiden's 1917 zinc notgeld emerged from the same municipal desperation felt across Germany as the imperial government's requisitioning of copper and nickel for munitions stripped towns of the raw material needed to keep small-denomination coinage in circulation. Cities were left to fend for themselves, petitioning local authorities for permission to issue their own emergency pieces. Zinc was the fallback — cheap, available, and deeply unpopular with the public for its tendency to corrode rapidly in pocket humidity.

The Funck reference places this as the primary variety for Weiden's five-pfennig issue, suggesting at least one additional type was produced.
