| Aversbeschreibung | The obverse features the civic arms of Tauberbischofsheim centrally positioned in the field: a spoked wheel above, flanked by the letters B B, with a bishop's mitre and crossed croziers below, all elements referencing the city's ecclesiastical heritage. The surrounding legend STADT TAUBERBISCHOFSHEIM runs along the entire periphery in bold Latin capitals. Two six-pointed stars flank the word STADT at the upper portion of the legend. The design is enclosed within a beaded border that runs along the inner edge of the coin. |

| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse displays the large numeral '5' prominently at the centre of the field, with the denomination abbreviation 'Pfg.' inscribed below. The legend KRIEGSNOTGELD (war emergency money) arcs around the upper periphery in bold raised Latin capitals. The date 1918 is split across the lower field with '19' to the left and '18' to the right of the central denomination. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border consistent with the obverse. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
Tauberbischofsheim issued this zinc notgeld piece in 1918 as the Imperial German coinage system collapsed under wartime metal requisitioning. Copper and nickel had been diverted to war production for years by that point, leaving municipal authorities across Baden and the rest of Germany to fill the small-denomination gap themselves. The city sits in the Main-Tauber district, then part of the Grand Duchy of Baden, and its locally authorized emergency issues were never intended to outlast the armistice.
