| 正面描述 | The octagonal flan is bordered by a continuous pearl rim. A circular beaded inner border divides the field into an annular legend area and a central zone. The circumferential legend reads WÄCHTERSBACHER STEINGUTFABRIK G.M.B.H. SCHLIERBACH BEI WÄCHTERSBACH, separated by two six-pointed stars, in raised Latin lettering. At the centre of the beaded circle, the large numeral 5 appears in bold relief, denoting the denomination. |

Wächtersbacher Steingutfabrik, a ceramics manufacturer in Schlierbach, issued zinc notgeld tokens during the early Weimar period when the collapse of the imperial coinage system left employers unable to make change for workers. Factory scrip of this kind was a pragmatic local fix — issued by the company, redeemable at the company store, and utterly worthless outside the gates.
Zinc was the material of necessity here, not preference. Wartime requisitioning had stripped Germany's metal supply, and by 1918–1921 even small private issuers were casting in whatever alloy could be sourced.
