| 正面描述 | The obverse displays the municipal coat of arms of Scheinfeld at center, a quartered shield bearing a lion passant on the dexter half and a crenellated tower on the sinister half, surmounted by decorative foliate scrollwork. The legend STADT SCHEINFELD arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, with the date 1917 positioned in the lower field below the shield. Two five-pointed stars flank the date at the lower left and right, and a continuous pearl border encircles the entire design. |

Scheinfeld is a small Franconian market town that would otherwise leave no trace in numismatic history. This piece is Kriegsgeld — emergency municipal coinage issued when the German war economy had consumed copper and nickel so thoroughly that even minor everyday transactions could not be completed. By 1917 the Imperial government had sanctioned hundreds of municipalities to produce their own zinc and iron substitutes, and Scheinfeld was among the smallest communities to do so.
The Funck catalog remains the primary reference for this notgeld series, and the .1 suffix on this attribution indicates the primary known variety.
