| Obverse description | Central device depicts the heraldic city gate of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, rendered as a crenellated twin-towered fortress with an arched gateway below, set on a stepped base. The design is enclosed within a dotted inner border. The circular legend surrounding the central device reads MAGISTRAT DER K·B·STADT in the upper field and ROTHENBURG ✿ OB DER TAUBER ✿ in the lower field, separated by small floral ornaments. The entire composition is contained within the octagonal flan, with a further outer ring of raised dots following the contour of the coin. |
