| 背面描述 | Large numeral '5' prominently displayed in the center of the field, with the date '1920' inscribed below, flanked by two five-pointed stars. The circular legend 'KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE' (small change substitute token) runs around the upper periphery. The design is contained within a double border consisting of an inner ring of raised dots and an outer ring of fine milling, imparting a neat, utilitarian appearance characteristic of German Notgeld coinage of the period. |

Roth bei Nürnberg issued this notgeld piece in 1920 as the postwar iron shortage and fractional currency crisis left German municipalities scrambling to fill the vacuum left by an overwhelmed federal mint. Iron was a compromise material — cheap, available, and deeply unpopular with the public, who associated it with wartime deprivation coinage. Many of these small municipal issues were hoarded almost immediately upon release, not from numismatic interest but from distrust that anything better would follow.
