| Reverse description | Beaded (pearl) border following the octagonal outline of the flan. The central field depicts a wine handler or cooper employing a traditional wine ladder (Weinleiter), a device historically used to maneuver or transport wine barrels on inclined surfaces, rendered in a simple, flat relief style characteristic of wartime Notgeld coinage. No inscriptions or legends appear on the reverse. Known varieties exist based on the proximity of the wine ladder to the pearl border: in variety 'a', the top-left side of the ladder nearly touches the pearls, while in variety 'b', the bottom-right side of the ladder approaches the pearl border. |
