正面描述 Octagonal zinc notgeld token with a continuous pearl border following the eight-sided periphery. A circular rope-twist inner border encloses the central field, within which the large numeral '5' denotes the denomination. The surrounding annular legend reads 'KARL DÜRRWANGER' across the upper arc and 'MÜNCHEN' across the lower arc, separated by two five-pointed stars at the lateral positions.

背面描述 Octagonal reverse mirroring the obverse layout, with a continuous pearl border along the coin's periphery and an inner rope-twist circle enclosing the large central numeral '5'. The circumferential legend 'KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE' arcs across the upper portion of the annular field, identifying the piece as a small-change substitute token, while three five-pointed stars are evenly distributed along the lower arc of the legend zone.

附加信息

Karl Dürrwanger was a Munich merchant or tradesman who issued this zinc notgeld piece during the acute small-change shortages that plagued Germany in the early 1920s. Private municipal tokens of this type filled a genuine transactional gap when Reichsbank-issued coinage disappeared from everyday commerce almost entirely. Zinc was the material of necessity — cheap, available, and despised by the public for its tendency to corrode rapidly in pocket wear.
