| 表面の説明 | Within a raised octagonal inner frame, a detailed relief view of the Faust Tower of Maulbronn Monastery is depicted, surrounded by trees and architectural elements rendered in low relief. The legend KRIEGSNOTGELD arcs along the upper margin of the coin, while the city name MAULBRONN is inscribed along the lower margin, both in raised Latin capital letters within the flat outer border. The overall composition presents a picturesque townscape vignette characteristic of German Notgeld issues of the First World War period. |

Maulbronn's 1918 emergency coinage was issued by the district authority as the Imperial German war economy stripped copper and nickel from civilian circulation entirely, leaving municipalities to fend for themselves with whatever base metals remained available. Iron was the fallback — cheap, plentiful, and utterly unglamorous. These Notgeld pieces were never intended to outlast the war, and most didn't survive prolonged circulation due to rust.
