| 正面描述 | A pearl border runs along the inner rim, enclosing a circular legend in raised Latin letters. At center, the municipal coat of arms of Lauingen is depicted as a heraldic shield bearing a crowned head in left-facing profile. Two six-pointed stars flank the shield at the three and nine o'clock positions. The legend STADTGEMEINDE at top and LAUINGEN at bottom together identify the issuing municipality. |

Lauingen, a small Bavarian town on the Danube, issued this piece in 1917 as municipal emergency currency when wartime metal requisitions drained the German economy of copper and nickel coinage. Zinc was the compromise material — cheap, available, and deeply unpopular with the public for its tendency to corrode and discolor in circulation.
Funck 278.1 identifies this as the primary variety for the issue.
