Obverse description Octagonal zinc notgeld token with a circular beaded inner border enclosing the large numeral '5' in the centre field, itself set within a raised annular ring. The peripheral legend 'HANS MÜLLER' arcs across the upper field and 'ESLARN' across the lower field, each separated by a six-pointed star. A small circular perforation is struck through the token at the top, immediately above the inner beaded circle. The entire design is framed by a continuous outer beaded border following the octagonal periphery.

Reverse description Plain octagonal field dominated by a large, boldly struck numeral '5' occupying the centre of the flan, with no additional legend or ornament. A continuous beaded border runs along the inner edge of the octagonal planchet, and a small circular perforation is present at the top of the token, consistent with the obverse. The flat, unadorned field gives the reverse a stark, utilitarian character typical of World War I German notgeld issues.
