| Obverse description | Large numeral '5' dominates the centre of the field, with the date 1918 split to either side — '19' to the left and '18' to the right — flanking the top of the numeral. The legend STADT DÜREN curves in a semicircle along the lower portion of the field, reading left to right beneath the central denomination.
