| 正面描述 | Beaded outer rim enclosing a circular rope border, within which the municipal coat of arms of Colmar is centrally depicted, featuring two rampant lions flanking a crowned shield, all rendered in low relief. The circular legend BÄCKER-INNUNG runs along the upper arc and COLMAR along the lower arc, separated by two star stops at the sides. The overall design reflects the heraldic tradition of German guild notgeld issues of the early twentieth century. |

Colmar passed between French and German administration twice within living memory — annexed by the German Empire in 1871, returned to France in 1919 — and this guild token falls squarely within the German period. Trade tokens issued by bakers' guilds (Innungen) were common across Alsace during the late Imperial era, used to facilitate small transactions among guild members and their customers when official small change was scarce or inconvenient. The zinc composition is characteristic of low-denomination private issues from the region, chosen for cheapness rather than durability.
