| Obverse description | Plain flat field pierced by a central circular hole approximately 3 mm in diameter. A circular outer legend in raised Latin lettering reads VORSCHUSS-VEREIN BRAUBACH along the upper arc and KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE along the inner arc, with the word WERT positioned above the central hole. The large numeral 5 appears in the lower field below the hole, flanked by star ornaments, and the denomination word PFENNIG runs along the lower periphery between two further star stops. The design is entirely typographic with no figurative elements, typical of German notgeld emergency coinage of the World War I era. |
