| Obverse description | A boldly rendered spread eagle with wings displayed occupies the central field, facing right in heraldic fashion. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, itself surrounded by a continuous pearl border at the coin's outer rim. The circular legend, reading VERWALTUNG DER STADT ANNWEILER 1919, is distributed around the eagle between the pearl rim and the beaded circle, with a raised dot serving as a separator. The overall style is characteristic of German notgeld emergency coinage of the immediate post-World War I period. |
