| Obverse description | The octagonal field is framed by an outer pearl border following the coin's eight-sided contour. A circular inner pearl ring encloses the central denomination numeral '5' in large raised relief. The surrounding annular field bears the legend 'N. MIES' across the upper arc and 'AHRWEILER' along the lower arc, with two five-pointed stars serving as separators at the lateral positions. The overall design is plain and functional, characteristic of German Notgeld emergency coinage of the World War I era. |
