The centre carries a large scalloped cartouche enclosing the Fraktur legends 'Gutschein über Fünf Pfennig', with the city arms of Memmingen faintly visible behind the text; flanking the cartouche are two circular medallions each bearing the numeral '5' above 'Pfennig'. Validity text appears in the upper-left corner, the serial number in the upper right, and the issuing authority 'Stadtmagistrat Memmingen' with an autograph signature and the anti-forgery notice 'Nachahmungen strafbar' at the foot. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Printed entirely in blue on a cream wave-pattern guilloche ground, the reverse is dominated by a large central vignette of the Memmingen civic arms — a quartered shield bearing a lion and a cross, surmounted by a mural crown — set within an oval frame and surrounded by an elaborate foliate and scrollwork cartouche. Two smaller rosette guilloche medallions flank the composition at left and right. The printer's imprint appears in a rectangular panel at the lower centre. |
