| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in black on a pale green underprint and framed by a decorative border with the denomination numeral '5' in each corner accompanied by the word 'Pfennig'. Two symmetrical oval vignettes, one on each lateral side, each contain a full-length figure of Saint Kilian in ecclesiastical robes, captioned 'St. Kilian' beneath. The central field carries the denomination heading 'Fünf Pfennig' in Gothic Fraktur script above the issuing authority inscription 'Notgeld der Stadt Langewiesen/Thür.' and the issue year 'Ausgegeben im Jahre 1921', below which facsimile signatures of the Magistrat and the Gemeinderat appear, with a serial number printed in the lower centre panel. |
