| Obverse description | Typeset Notgeld voucher printed in black on grey-blue patterned paper with a fine geometric guilloche underprint. The issuer's name 'KREIS CALAU' appears in large bold Gothic lettering across the top, below which the legend 'Gutschein 5 Pfennig' is set with a large ornamental numeral '5' flanked by foliate scrollwork. The validity clause 'Gültig bis 31. Deztr. 1918' is printed in a curved line below the central motif, followed by the redemption instruction 'Einzulösen bei der Kreiskommunalkasse zu Calau'; series letter 'REIHE N.' and a serial number appear at the lower left and right respectively, with the printer's imprint along the bottom margin. |
