| 表面の銘文 | CONSELL GENERAL DE LES VALLS D`ANDORRA VAL PER CINC PESSETES EMISSIÓ ACORDADA PEL MOLT IL·LUSTRE CONSELL GENERAL EN DATA 19 DESEMBRE 1936 (Translation: General Council of the Valleys of Andorra Valid for Five Pesetas Issue agreed by the very illustrious General Council on December 19, 1936) |
| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is printed entirely in blue letterpress and carries the full text of the extract from Decree No. 112, setting out the legal basis and guarantee for the issue across multiple dense lines. The Andorran coat of arms appears as a light underprint in the background, serving as a subtle security element behind the decree text. The composition is purely typographic, with no pictorial vignette, the documentary character of the text being the defining visual element. |

Andorra had no central bank in 1936 — it still doesn't, technically — so when the Civil War cut off reliable access to Spanish and French currency, the Consell General stepped in with emergency paper. The second issue of the 5 Pessetes was part of a tiny wartime emission that circulated almost entirely within the valleys themselves, supplementing an economy that had relied almost exclusively on coin.
Surviving examples are genuinely rare. The total print runs for the entire 1936 Andorran emergency series were minuscule, and much of what circulated was lost, destroyed, or simply worn out by the rough handling typical of crisis-period small denomination notes.
