Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield quartered with a royal palm, a rising sun over a key, and red-and-white stripes, supported by an oak branch and laurel wreath tied with a ribbon. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery. The coin's silver fineness (AG 0.999) and weight (12G.) are inscribed on the left and right sides of the arms respectively, while the face value 5 PESOS appears in the lower field.
