Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a shield divided into three sections: the upper portion depicts a golden key between two rocky promontories symbolizing Cuba's geographic position, the middle section displays the rising sun above a landscape, and the lower section bears diagonal blue and white stripes. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap atop a staff and flanked by sprigs of oak and laurel tied at the base. The circumscribed legend 'REPUBLICA DE CUBA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '5 PESOS' appears at the base. The metallic specifications '12 G.' and 'AG 0.999' are inscribed to the lower left and lower right of the arms respectively.
