Obverse description Unidentified male bust in left profile, bare-headed and draped, occupying the central field. The circumferential legend reads ESTADO L.Y.S. DE OAXACA, separated by small five-pointed stars at the base. The date 1915 appears in the lower exergual area beneath the bust. The coin's border is decorated with a continuous beaded or pellet motif.

Reverse description The denomination 5 PESOS. is prominently displayed in large numerals and lettering at the centre of the field, with the fineness indication 0.175 ORO inscribed below. The circular legend MONEDA PROVISIONAL arcs across the upper periphery. At the base of the field, two olive or laurel branches cross and meet at a floral ornament, enclosing the fineness inscription. The initials L.M. appear at the very bottom, likely denoting the local mint master or engraver. A continuous beaded border frames the entire design.
