| Reverse description | The reverse presents a central design of a large, spreading oak or ceiba tree set within a wreath of laurel branches, flanked by two upright olive or laurel sprigs that frame the base of the tree. Superimposed on the trunk of the tree in the lower central field is the denomination inscription '5 Ps.' rendered in relief. A ring of eleven six-pointed stars encircles the tree, referencing the Central American union. The outer legend, arranged around the full circumference of the coin, reads DIOS UNION LIBERTAD on the upper arc and 15 DE SET. 1821 0.900 on the lower arc, commemorating Honduran independence on 15 September 1821 and indicating the gold fineness of 0.900. |
