Obverse description Left-facing bust of a Native Araucanian (Mapuche) chief occupying the central field, adorned with an elaborate feathered headdress and a tied headband with flowing ribbon. The legend CHILE is inscribed vertically along the left field, with the fineness indicator 0.72 positioned to the right of the portrait. The date 1926 appears in the lower field beneath the truncation. The coin is bordered by a raised beaded inner rim, and a small engraver's signature is visible at the lower right of the bust truncation.
