| 裏面の説明 | The reverse presents a highly detailed architectural view of the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, rendered in fine relief with its characteristic Art Nouveau and Art Deco domed structure prominently displayed at center. The series legend ENCUENTRO DE DOS MUNDOS arcs boldly across the upper field, with the denomination $5 appearing to the upper left and the Mexico City mint mark Mo to the upper right. The date 2005 is inscribed in the lower field, while the inscription PALACIO DE BELLAS ARTES - MÉXICO curves along the lower periphery. A decorative beaded border frames the entire design, and the proof surface displays sharply struck architectural detail against mirror-polished fields. |

The Palacio de Bellas Artes series was part of Banco de México's long-running commemorative program celebrating iconic Mexican architecture and cultural monuments. The Palacio itself was notoriously delayed in construction — begun under Porfirio Díaz in 1904, it wasn't completed until 1934, interrupted by the Revolution and a decades-long engineering struggle with the soft lakebed beneath central Mexico City, which caused the building to sink visibly during construction.
KM#765 belongs to a collector-oriented silver series with no meaningful circulation history. The sinking problem never stopped — the Palacio now sits roughly three meters lower than its original grade level.
