The mint mark Mo and the date 2009 appear to the left of the portrait, while the denomination $5 is positioned to the right. The name LUIS CABRERA is inscribed along the lower rim of the centre. The stainless steel outer ring carries the commemorative legend CENTENARIO DE LA REVOLUCIÓN arcing across the upper portion and MÉXICO 2010 along the lower portion, flanked by small circular ornaments. |

Luis Cabrera was one of the principal architects of the 1917 Mexican Constitution, serving as Treasury Secretary under Venustiano Carranza and drafting much of the agrarian reform legislation that shaped post-revolutionary land policy. He was also a sharp political essayist who fell out of favor after Carranza's assassination in 1920 and spent long periods in exile. His inclusion in this circulating bimetallic series reflects Mexico's broader project of commemorating revolutionary-era intellectuals and statesmen alongside the military figures who dominate popular memory of the period.
