Reverse description Within the aluminium-bronze centre, a three-quarter right-facing portrait bust of independence leader José María Morelos y Pavón, depicted wearing his characteristic clerical cassock and military bandana, rendered in bold sculptural relief. The denomination $5 appears to the left of the portrait and the mint mark Mo with the date 2010 to the right. The subject's name JOSÉ MARÍA MORELOS Y PAVÓN curves along the lower portion of the centre. The stainless steel ring carries the commemorative legend BICENTENARIO DE LA INDEPENDENCIA along the upper arc and MÉXICO 2010 along the lower arc.
