Obverse description The Mexican national arms occupy the aluminium bronze centre, depicting the heraldic eagle passant facing left, perched on a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop amid water, and grasping a serpent in its beak and talons. The design is rendered in fine relief with detailed feathering. The surrounding stainless steel ring features floral and foliate ornamental devices at the base, with the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS inscribed along the upper arc.
