Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield with a royal palm, rising sun, and key, supported by an oak and laurel branch, surmounted by a Phrygian cap on a pole. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery. The coin's weight and fineness (12 G. AG 0.999) are inscribed on the left and right sides of the field respectively, while the denomination 5 PESOS appears along the lower border.
