| Obverse description | The Mexican national coat of arms is presented within a square cartouche at centre, depicting the eagle perched on a cactus devouring a serpent. The legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs along the upper border outside the cartouche, while the weight and fineness designation 1 ONZA DE PLATA LEY 0.999 appears along the lower border in the field. The overall composition is rendered in a bold relief characteristic of Mexican bullion coinage of this period. |
