Pick 153 ran for an exceptionally long time — the sheer number of signature combinations, spanning at least eleven distinct pairings across series A through W, reflects nearly two decades of continuous reissue without a redesign. Thomas De La Rue supplied the printed sheets; the Banco Central handled series assignment and signature rotation locally as governors and ministers turned over. Bolivia's chronic fiscal instability through the 1960s and early 1970s meant low-denomination notes like this circulated hard and were replaced frequently, which is why higher series letters in genuinely uncirculated state are disproportionately difficult to source.
