Obverse description A classical allegorical seated female figure occupies the left vignette in intaglio engraving, set against a bold red sunburst ray underprint radiating across the centre of the note. The denomination FIVE PESOS is printed in large letterpress text, with the place and date of issue — Manila, P.I., January 1, 1920 — inscribed below, alongside two printed serial numbers and two manuscript signatures of bank officers. A circular blue bank seal appears to the right, with ornate guilloche borders framing the entire face.
