| Obverse description | The center of the obverse features the Mexican national coat of arms rendered in high sculptural relief, depicting the eagle on a cactus devouring a serpent, encircled by the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS. Surrounding the central shield in the outer field is a series of historical Mexican arms used throughout the country's history, arranged in a decorative border following the coin's circumference. Also incorporated into the design is a reproduction of the eagle from the central section of the first page of the Codex Mendoza, referencing pre-Columbian heraldic tradition. The overall composition combines modern minting technique with deep historical and cultural iconography. |
