The bold inscription CINCO PESOS runs across the centre within an elaborate scrollwork and foliate surround, with the numeral 5 in a large rosette at left and the Roman numeral V within a framed panel at right. A red bank seal is struck over the central guilloche area, and small numeral counter-5s appear within oval lathe medallions at upper right. The printer's imprint of Homer Lee Bank Note Co.
