At upper left, the provincial coat of arms of La Rioja is printed alongside the bold heading PROVINCIA DE LA RIOJA and the subtitle BONOS DE CANCELACIÓN DE DEUDAS. A red-orange band at the lower portion carries the denomination CINCO PESOS in white lettering, with the numeral 5 printed vertically at far right. Series designation SERIE A and serial number appear at centre-left, with reference to Ley N° 7.113 and the clause AL PORTADOR.
