| Obverse description | Letterpress-printed in black on plain paper, the obverse is enclosed within a fine decorative rectangular border and carries the heading 'COMMONWEALTH OF THE PHILIPPINES / PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL' above the issue date of January 13, 1942. The bearer demand clause occupies the central text block, with the bold denomination 'FIVE PESOS' set in large type at center, while the series designation and serial number appear at upper right and lower left respectively.
