| Obverse description | Plain unadorned note printed in brown on white paper stock with a fine guilloche underprint pattern. The upper portion carries the inscription COMMONWEALTH OF THE PHILIPPINES / PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, the date January 12, 1942, and SERIES OF 1942 in the upper corners. The central text reads PAY TO BEARER ON DEMAND THE SUM OF FIVE PESOS (Philippine Currency), with a further legend charging the amount against the deposit of the Provincial Treasurer of Negros Occidental with the Philippine National Bank, Bacolol Branch, accompanied by two signature lines for the Prov. Auditor and the Provincial Treasurer, and a serial number in the lower left. |
