备注

The Philippine National Bank's wartime emergency branch issues are among the most administratively complex of all Pacific theater currency. The Bacolod branch issue was authorized specifically because the fall of Manila in late 1941 severed normal banking supply lines; provincial branches were empowered to issue their own notes backed by local assets rather than central reserves.

Negros Occidental's sugar economy meant the Bacolod branch was not a minor outpost — it held substantial commercial accounts. Japanese forces occupied the island in May 1942, and many of these notes were destroyed, hoarded, or voided during the subsequent Japanese Military Peso rollout.
