Beschrijving voorzijde	Printed in green and black, the obverse bears the arched bank title BANCO DE OCCIDENTE / EN QUEZALTENANGO across the top with the denomination numeral 5 at upper centre; the central intaglio vignette presents a classical allegorical female figure reclining alongside a millwheel and agricultural implements, a steam locomotive visible in the background. The Guatemalan coat of arms occupies an oval cartouche at the left, while a quetzal bird perches on a branch at the right, with serial numbers flanking the vignette on both sides. Three manuscript signatures run along the lower margin above the American Bank Note Co., New York imprint.

Beschrijving keerzijde	Printed in dark brown and black, the reverse is dominated by an elaborate guilloche pattern covering the entire field, with a large central rosette of fine lathe-work flanked symmetrically by two mirror-image vignettes of quetzal birds with spread wings resting on crossed branches. The bank name BANCO DE OCCIDENTE and EN QUEZALTENANGO are inscribed within the central guilloche band, while denomination numerals 5 occupy each corner within ornamental frames. A fine geometric border encloses the complete design.
