| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated at left by an intaglio portrait vignette of a distinguished gentleman in an oval frame with lathe-work border. At centre, a standing allegorical female figure is rendered in fine intaglio engraving. The heading reads REPUBLICA ARGENTINA at top, with the bank name EL BANCO PROVINCIAL DE CORDOBA in bold script across the centre field, and the denomination CINCO PESOS in large display lettering below. The Argentine national coat of arms appears at upper right, alongside series and emission text referencing the law of 2 de Noviembre de 1887, with the numeral 5 in the upper-right corner. |
