Obverse description	Central vignette of a seated allegorical female figure, rendered in fine intaglio engraving, flanked on the left by an ornate shield vignette and on the right by a large numeral "V" within a guilloche frame. The denomination "CINCO PESOS" is inscribed across the lower portion, with the bank title "EL BANCO NACIONAL DE LA REPÚBLICA DE COLOMBIA" arching across the top. The date "BOGOTÁ 1° DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 1886" appears in the lower field alongside two manuscript signature lines for bank officials.

Reverse description	The reverse is dominated by a large, intricately engraved lathe-work composition centered on the word "CINCO PESOS" rendered in bold, ornate lettering interwoven with elaborate guilloche scrollwork and foliate arabesques. A numeral "V" within a rectangular guilloche panel occupies the right portion, while a large stylized "5" is integrated into the left scrollwork design. The imprint of the American Bank Note Company appears in small lettering along the lower border.
