| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in black on white paper with a red underprint bearing the denomination numeral and the word 'SPECIMEN' in red twice across the lower portion. At left, a seated allegorical female figure is surrounded by a shield and maritime vignette with ships; at right, an intaglio portrait of a bearded gentleman in formal attire within an oval frame. The central text reads 'BANCO PROVINCIAL DE ENTRE-RÍOS' at the top, with 'Cinco Pesos' and the numeral '5' in the centre, below the promise-to-pay legend 'Pagará al portador á la vista'. | Reverse description | The reverse is printed in brown and features an elaborate guilloche border with large numeral '5' vignettes at left and right within ornate lathe-work panels, and decorative floral rosettes at the corners. The central vignette presents an oval portrait of a young woman with curly hair and a floral wreath, enclosed within a circular guilloche band carrying an inscription referencing navigation of the rivers of Entre Ríos and the Argentine Republic. The overall design is entirely typographic and engine-turned with no pictorial landscape elements. |
